Can i charge my camcorder with an ac adapter,if it says dc in?

I've got a VL_Z3U camcorder with L266u Li_ion battery but i haven't got the charger. When i look on the net, it says it 's got an ac adapter and other stuff with it when u buy it. What i want to know is if the thing really uses ac,because there's a place on mine where it says DC in and there's no other place on it where i can charge it. Can some1 plz help me?

The ac adapter is exactly that.  It Adapts the 110v/15amp household current to a dc current of lower voltage and amperage for your camcorder.

Near the power port on the camcorder, there may be a diagram and some numbers.  The diagram will explain the polarity (+ and -) settings of the plug, and the numbers will explain voltage and amperage for the correct power required.  An electronics store like your local Radio Shack can help you.

You can also search for vl-z3u ac adapter online.  You might be able to find one at a trustworthy supplier.
