Can i claim property left in the house i rent after 2 1/2 years? ?

My roommate moved out 2 1/2 years ago and left a pool table. He now wants it back to sell it because he needs money. He has not asked for it back since the move out and i think it is abandoned and rightfully my landlords who told me i could have it, thus rightfully mine. Otherwise he owes storage or some fee.

He's SOL! Most states give a tenant/roomate 30-60 days, but over 2 years? Legally he surrendered ownership a long time ago!

I would agree with you that the pool table has been abandoned after 2 1/2 years.

Anyway, how will your ex-roommate get the pool table unless you let him in? Surely it's up to you (and your landlord) who can enter your flat.
