Can i connect a firewire to a 54 mm Expresscard slot?

PLEASE PLEASE HELP!!!!!

I have a Canon dv camcorder which requires a firewire port my laptop doesnt have one-only a express slot.the make is a canon MD101 and i have a expresscard/54 inside my laptop.

Could I get a firewire slot and put it in inside the express card slot?and what is it called and where can i but it?

You should be able to get a firewire expresscard at a computer store or online. Just search for one!!
