I gather i will only be able to record the quad image of the four cameras or a sequential as it is a single channel pvr/freeview box but i have no idea what leads should go where to get it to work! There is a video output and a vcr output on the quad splitter. How do i get the pvr to locate the cctv quad screen and the record it? My brain hurts. Will it work? Thanks.

  1. Hi, If you have a VCR output then that is 'modulated' to a certain frequency for viewing/recording on any 21-69 tv/video-just tune the relevent piece of equipment to the channel that the quad splitter outputs on-39 for example.

The video output will only work on a dedicated CCTV monitor or the AV input of certain TV's etc.

In short it will work by just connecting the VCR out to PVR and tuning the PVR to the correct frequency.

    Hope that helps you.

  2. It actually depends on a lot of things especially on the CCTV equipment that you have. In order to set it up the way you want it, you must have CCTV systems that will be are flexible to your wants. Here's a good site to help you: http://www.video-surveillance-guide.com

  3. it depnds on the connectors at the back of the quad security mixer

if it has a traditional coax socket then its an RF analog compiste signal.. tune the pvr to that analogue signal... its probably channel 36.. but they do differ

if it has a scart socket it should come through if you selec tthat cable

if its has a VCR output? dunno what one of those is

if it has RGB or DVi cables then you may struggle to get a PVR that connects to that.

some security cameras use IP addressing.. so they can send the output to a computer over a netwrok
