Can i connect my computers?

Question

i have a laptop that has wireless internet and a desktop that doesbt i was wondering if i could connect my computers and get internet of one from the other? and if so i could use some instuctions.

if you have a wireless on one then you have to get wireless another, just install a wireless card on your PC,

when you buy a wireless LAn Card you will also get drivers for it , install the drivers,

not sure if you want one or the other

if you have internet available a router is a device that allows a number of computers to be attached to one internet connection coming in

if you get a wireless router then it will send both wireless to the laptop and up to 4 ethernet connections ( cable) as well

If you have a wireless signal beaming in to the laptop and want to share it with the desktop you can do this as well

Its called internet connection sharing

the internet will come in by the wireless on the laptop and will out on an ethernet cable from the network card on the laptop to the network card on the desktop

you may have to use a "crossover "  ethernet cable rather than a regular ethernet cable

its a regular cable where the wires are crossed over

available at computer stores but are more money

best buy will charge you a killing so try a hobbyist store

or you can use a router

plug in the ethernet cables into one of the four lan ports

not the single port marked wan or "internet"

You need a wireless router that includes wired switch ports, the device will come with easy to follow setup instructions.  And as long as your PC has a NIC, you'll find it a breeze to setup.  If you have problems, post questions here... =)
