  1. The sky box uses a proprietary format, so its going to be rather difficult.  Your best best is to scan the Home CInema newgroups on google to see if anyone has a solution.

    Good luck.

  2. I think You will need a TV Tuner on your laptop either external or internal, connect it using AV cables (Yellow, white, red)  let the TV tuner record your programs onto the harddrive of your Laptop. Then use a DVD burning application to get those videos into the disc. If you dont have the TV Tuner yet, make sure  your laptop has enough power to support the tv tuner before you buy.

  3. no.

  4. No they are encrypted - there are software de-crypters out there so I am led to believe.

  5. Yes it is possible you need a video capture card (usb version) or a tv card (usb version) with av inputs. Go with the video capture unless you want to watch FTA channels on your laptop aswell.

The sky box has a copy option in the planner that you can use to start continous playback of a recorded programme for recording on a dvd recorder or PC.

However Sky box office content is protected so this will not work with box office recordings or channels.
