  1. Yes. Now go get a JOB... have a good day.

  2. If you have your certification in repair, then yes, you're a professional tech.

If not, then you're an amateur tech.  You can still put those skills on a resume and it'll look impressive.

  3. Sure why not. Most techs know about networking too. Setting them up and stuff. They also have some certifications. For all that it matters or helps them.

  4. more like a L1 desk side tech.

look more at the network side with exchange A.D

Dude, you have been here since JULY, What happened to all the points? & of 71 Answers a whopping zero % of them were chosen as best answers.

But if you have been able to fix PC's at friends place (Say even 2/3rds  of the time with atleast 50 correct answers/working solutions) or worked someplace, Why not? Go ahead..

  6. yea same here....i consider my self to be one, so y shouldnt u but i thnk u kno a lil more than i do as far as web design and mac's

  7. no, not really. today there is so much more involved in it than in the 80,s when I got into it.

  8. The term "tech" does not require a license so anyone can use it.  So yes.

  9. a low end PC tech ok, but if you want to go into it get trainning because you are never up to date, and you never know it all.

  10. DUDE YOU SHOULD PUT YOUR TALENT ON A STORE OR SOMETHING YOU KNOW YOU WILL GET LOT OF MONEY FOR FIXING SOMEONES LAPTOP YOU ARE A LAPTOP GENIOUS NO KIDDING

  11. I would only be comfortable calling myself a "PC tech" if I had a job to do so.(any company) A degree would be nice too.(working on mine :)

Real techs learn on the job and become experts in certain fields.  That is why years of experience may be needed to apply for a tech job.

  12. if you think your up to it then try to get certified by CompTIA you would want the A+ IT technician certification test

  13. Wow...that's sort of a PC tech, I guess. That is impressive!

  14. You can call yourself anything you like, as long as it doesn't conflict with any laws in your country / province / state.

Generally, to call yourself a "Professional" requires a degree, an internship, and a license.

You could probably write the CompTIA A+ certification exam relatively easily - just borrow a book from the library on it first - then call yourself an A+ certified technician.
