OK I got this parking ticket just today:

I parked my motorcycle at school today (college) but instead of using a parking structure I parked outside of the building that I was going to. So I guess technically I parked on campus.

OK, there were no signs that say "no parking" anywhere, and to top it all off, I parked in a "bike" rack (HA HA, it was hilarious). Come back, and whoops, there's the parking ticket... btw I was gone for about 3 hours. The bike was not intruding anywhere or obstructing anything, it took up no more space than the regular bicycles that were parked right beside it.

Thereby, I say this parking ticket is LAME!!!!!

-But, can I contest it or not? Up to you.....

  1. You can try but the standard for all tickets on a campus are straight forward and you will need to pay it......................

  2. This is like the guy ticketed for driving in the carpool lane with a dead body in the back of the hearse.

(he went to court and lost............TOO)

  3. Sure, you can contest it, but you're probably not going to win.  You parked in a place that an ordinary, rational person would consider reserved for bicycles.  As in the kind you pedal, not the kind that have a motor.  You're deliberately trying to construe your motorcycle as a "bike".  The cop and the judge or magistrate will probably look at this by thinking you're being a smartass, and they won't likely take your side of it.  I think that you're better off to pay the ticket quickly if there's a grace period or discount period.  Some places give you a discount if you pay in the first 4 hours, or 12 hours, or some such.  I'd take advantage of that, and be glad they didn't impound your "bike".

  4. splitting hairs arn't you. pay the ticket you already know you were wrong. if you want to spend more money sure you can contest it.
