Can i convert a FAA-PPL to a JAR-FCL PPL ?

Question

Hi, i'm a EU citizen and i have a FAA-PPL that i got in the States while i was there. Now i live back in Europe, can i convert my FAA-PPL to a JAR-FCL PPL so i can fly the planes with the registration of my born country ?

Due some stupid regulation i can fly every other country EU plane registration except the one i'm born and living in with my FAA-PPL...
