The Cobra 19DXIII is meant for a vehicle instalation. Can i make it a Base-Radio? I thought about taking a 12v. adaptor, cutting the wire in half, then taking the BC and doing the same, then merging them to give the CB the 12. volts. BUT...does the Cobra 19DXIII use a 12v. adaptor (car lighter) or even 12v. at all? How can i make this CB able to plug into my wall?

  1. make it plug into your wall.... i dunno,

normally when people set up a base station they buy a 12v power supply, you can get them from radio shack.   you hook the black wire up to the black terminal, and the red wire to the red tirminal flip the switch and you have power.

Thats the easiest and best way to do it,  (and is fused so safest as well)

the way your talking about might harm the radio, you have no way to regulate whats going into the radio.  i would go invest in a power supply.

  2. All you need to do is buy a 12volt power supply that is capable of about 1 1/2 amps.

You should use a proper supply to do the job as these have good voltage regulation and filtering.

Simply do a search and buy a CB power supply of eBay , or at your local radio shop.

Don't use a car battery charger , a small wall wart or a computer power supply.
