  1. sure can.  there's a difference between outright animal abuse and dinner.

  2. In my opinion, it would make you somewhat of a hypocrite. Unless you went out and killed your own food, and only ate what you yourself obtained with your own hands. And Im still not altogether sold on the whole "its okay if you kill it yourself" thing.

  3. Of course.

As long as you are passionate about it, anyone can defend animal rights, vegetarian or not.

  4. YES. if you eat *organic* meat/cheese/eggs/milk.

  5. sure... I like to know the cow i eat is healthy and healthy for me to eat.

  6. you can, but you won't be taken too seriously.  it's pretty hypocritcal to defend adn animal while eating it affter it suffers in a slaughterhouse.

  7. You sure can.  Certain animals were created for eating.  (They offered animals to God in the bible didn't they?)  Animals deserve some basic rights.  Let's go basic and discuss dogs.  Don't they deserve food, shelter, water, care, and attention?  If you think so then you are supporting animal rights.  Not everyone is a zealous as the people in PETA when it comes to animal rights.  Do what you feel is right and enjoy your next steak!

  8. yes me and my mom r not vegetarians but we fight 4 animal rights and we r both members of the aspca

  9. yes, all depending what you define as animal rights that is.  Think about it like this.  Animals eat each other. They don't have a moral understanding within each other about each other so what effect are we going to have on them?  don;t abuse animals but Ifwe want to eat beef, eat beef!

  10. talka bout how animal *abuse* should be put to an end! im not a wegtarian and i still find animal abuse absolutely horrible....

    :(((

  11. peta.com

you can donate money to help against animal abuse.

it's not only about not eating animals, that is fine, but abusing them is not.

  12. Sure..as long as the other animals have the right to eat you if they ever get hungry

  13. Heck yes :))  There are some animals that most humans don't eat (ex. cats, dogs, hamsters, etc....)

  14. Sure, as long as we can do it over a prime rib.

  15. Of course you can, some will view it as hypocritical but they will get over it.

  16. actually you can because even if you eat meat you can say that this animal nourish and keep my body healthy like a cow milk make you strong and its meat give you proteins. you can defend by saying its wrong they use there fur for clothes shoes and furniture material so i believe you can but you have to give them idea why.

  17. Animals - including livestock - are still entitled to be treated humanely.  They should have proper and adequate living conditions, not maltreated, starved, or otherwise uncared for.

My sheep have it better than our soldiers in Afghanistan.

  18. I don't see why you couldn't.

I have met many people that work at different animal protection groups and they are not vegetarian.

    It isn't a requirement.

  19. Yes you can, but it's better for you and the animals if you don't eat meat.  A meat eater can defend animal rights, but they are still supporting animal cruelty.

Go to www.meat.org to see why killing animals for meat is just as cruel, if not more cruel, as other forms of animal abuse.

  20. I guess it's better to support animal rights while eating meat than to not support it at all.

It seem very hypocritical to me...or just very lazy. but it's your choice so do whatever you want.

  21. Absolutely. Free speech

  22. Are you freakin' kidding me? Of course you cant, you'll just be a hypocrite.

  23. Yes you can. I do so by buying meat, eggs and dairy products from sources which treat their animals humanely. This is a very touchy subject and not something I would debate with a militant vegan.

  24. Sure, but I don't think people will take you as seriously if they knew you still eat meat. Defending animal rights when you eat animals at the same time sort of makes you look like a hypocrite.

  25. yes, but then you would be a hypocrite, and sound like a fool.

  26. I don't think you'll be taken seriously. How can you stand up for animals but still believe in slaughtering them for your tastebuds?

Out of curiosity, what animal issues are you most passionate about? I can understand being anti-fur, pro-adoption, or pro-neutering while still eating meat, but I wouldn't consider you an animal rights activist if you eat meat. h**l, I'm even a little wary of vegetarians (ie, not vegans) who claim to support AR.

  27. Yes. As long as you are not speaking out against slaughtering animals for food then you are not being hypocritical. Try to think of a case such as Michael Vick's dog fighting. That's cruelty to animals, not feeding your animals, is cruelty, but eating meat is not cruel the process they use to supply you with a Big Mac is cruel you eating it is not. And as for wanting to stand up for animal rights GOOD FOR YOU!

  28. Well, that's a little tricky.  You see, well over 90 percent of the animals exploited and abused are for food.  So it's a little weird to say you're for animal rights when you're eating them.

On the other hand, if you want to end animal circuses, zoos, animal fighting, fur farms, vivisection, puppy mills, and all the other nonfood ways humans exploit animals, the people running those movements will certainly appreciate another voice in the chorus.

If you don't wish to go veg, that's your decision, but there are two things you can do:  1) Reduce your consumption of animal products and 2) Buy less cruelly produced foods.

  29. yes,you can.and thank you for defend animal rights.

  30. Sure you can. Buy your meat and dairy from farms who treat the animals humanely and with respect. You might have to do alot of research or, just shop at whole foods.

  31. Yes.  Easily.  Being appreciative of your bountiful and cheap food supply, including meat, is all you need to do to overcome the claims of hypocrisy.

Indians saw the white man as cruel because he killed buffalo with the intent of only taking the hide.  He did not respect the animal by utilizing all parts of it.  In modern animal production, we gone back to nearly total utilization of the animal, restoring the respect for its life.
