  1. Virus is not restricted to any Account. If your system is infected then all the accounts get impacted. No use of deleting/removing any accounts.

Instead remove the virus itself. Use Antivirus software.

There are many free softwares which are effective also. Use any one of these - AVG or Avast or Avira.

Try AVG 8.0 antivirus, its really effective.

  2. when booting tap f8 and from the list select safe mode

  3. you can, but it probably isn't the best way to attempt to solve the problem, and its not very likely to get rid of the virus.  Try doing a system restore to a point in time before you got the virus.

  4. usually no because a virus infects the system files although you can try if it infects user files. and don't do system restore since it may cause other problem. turn your system restore off and then use a anti-virus program to get rid of the virus.

  5. When you DO get rid of the viruses. Use this tip...

Make a limited user, Do all your internet surfing and careless stupid stuff on that limited user account.

Keep your admin account for the nitty-gritty work like anti-virus/spyware scanning. So that way you can keep your PC clean. A Virus needs an admin account to execute the "Good stuff" within the virus. Otherwise it's restricted to the limited users permissions. All a virus is there to do is to either bother you or perform malicious activities or grant permissions to the PC.

Pushpak is incorrect... if the user is limited, then the virus can only go as far as that limited user can go. Sorry to disappoint you "push"

The virus needs admin privileges to infect the entire system.

  6. This will not get rid of the virus the best thing to do would be to install a virus scanner. I would recommend Avast which i find to be very good and it is also free for home use.

You can get Avast from http://www.avast.com

Afterwards i would install Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and run that as well as it can sort out any Malware problems you have i.e. things not working and so on. They have just released a new version today and is also free.

You can get it from http://www.malwarebytes.org
