  1. I do not believe you can, no, I'm pretty sure you need about 4 A-C GCSE's atleast. Including English and Maths.

  2. You can do some A levels without the GCSE's in that particular subject...such as Law, Psychology, Politics, etc. BUT you will need some GCSE's (at least 5) preferably Maths, English, Science and some others.

This is because many subjects at A level draw on knowledge gained in other subjects and also require essay and some numeracy skills.

Best check with your LOCAL sixth form college as to their requirements for certain subject study areas as the entry requirments differ slightly between colleges.

  3. Most A levels request atleast a C an english and maths in GCSE's but you can retake them in college! x

  4. I don't think many sixth form colleges do offer you to study A levels if you don't have any passes at GCSE, i think it's run on a points system - also if you're not going to get ANY gcse's i think your school should of picked up on it and offered extra help!

many colleges offer diploma courses, depending on your grades at GCSE you can apply for a first diploma or a national diploma (national diploma is higher than a first diploma)

if you really don't think you're going to do well in your GCSE's maybe you should look at your local college for courses that may interest you, many are more practical and are coursework based so they are better for people who are lets say, more practical/creative than academic.

all is not lost if you leave school without GCSE's despite what people think, i didn't do well in my GCSE's because my parents split up at i moved away to a completely different school but i went to college and i'm now at university studying a degree in nursing :).
