Can i do Dell System Restore ?

I deleted the partition that Dell Laptop comes with to use for System restore.

Now my system has crashed.

But I can use Ubuntu Linux to view my hard drive contents.

Can I create a partition now manually & copy the contents from my friend's Dell Partition disk into it.

Will this then allow me to do System Restorey thru' F11 at startup ?
