I'd love to do one of these High School year outs. But i feel that when i finished all my a-levels ill be too old to go to school in another country. Is it possible to do half an alevel and still get the ucas points for them? I dont know whether i want to go to University or not. I'd love to go on a high school year and decide what i want to do then, maybe stay in that country or come back to continue my education in the UK.

PS. Im at the stage of choosing my a-levels so i wont start them until September!

  1. Yes, it's fine to do half an A Level then continue it later, as long as you stay with the same exam board for all of the modules.

Most schools will "cash in" your A Levels after one year, giving you some AS Levels, which are standalone qualifications. At that point, you can leave the modules as they are and let them contribute to your final A Level, or re-sit some of them to improve your overall A Level grade. However, unless you "decline" an AS Level, any resits you do afterwards won't contribute to the AS Level you already have.
