  1. You know, I have NEVER gotten carded (been on 4 cruises so far)...I truly believe they don't check.  As long as you tell them to bring it, they will keep on coming  :D

  2. Depending on what cruise line you are taking you can or can't. The bigger ones won't allow it. As for drinking on the islands you can. They really don't care much about that (the islanders) as long as you have money to pay! :-)) you might want to give specifics if you want others to answer with more detail. Sorry!

  3. No, the cruise lines don't let people under 21 drink onboard.

The only exception is in Europe / Asia / ANZ where RCI and Celebrity will let 18-20 drink with a parent's signed approval.

Article detailing each cruise line's age restrictions:

So any drinking will need to be on land.  But be sure not to miss the ship!

  4. Cruiselines based in the USA (Carnival, RCL, Princess, NCL, etc) say you must be 21 to drink aboard.

You will be able to drink in Jamaica but not aboard the ship even when it is docked in Jamaica.

Be smart and take it easy on the boozing.  Enjoy the cruise and you cannot do that with a massive hangover.

  5. The legal drinking age on all cruise ships sailing from US ports is age 21 and so you cannot drink on any ship regardless of whether they are on the seas or docked in a foreign port.  HOWEVER, you CAN drink all you want in Jamaica and all of the other islands in the Caribbean except St Thomas at age 18 and above.  So once off the ship you can have a ball in the bars, clubs and on the booze cruises.

St Thomas is considered a part of the US so no 18 yr old drinking there.

  6. Officially, it's 21 on the ship.

We found cold $1 Red Stripes in downtown Ocho Rios last September that they would have probably sold to a 12 year old. Only downside is that you have to deal with all the hawkers along the way...
