Can i drink while taking tablets?

i have been given Augmentin tablets to take 3 times a day for 7 days for a bite wound on my hand had 3 stitchs. can i drink alchol?

This is an antibiotic you are taking and yes, you can drink in moderation. Don't forget to take the full 7 day course and get well soon. Sounds nasty.

Hopefully no UK GPs prescribe this drug other than by its generic name Co-amoxiclav.  Our Scottish prescribing advisers would have their guts for garters!

However it is a penicillin with no particular interactions with alcohol, so you can drink safely. ( Within the normal recommended limits of course.)
