Can i drive (in the UK) if im 16? apparently if i have a provisional i can drive with someone on the road...

if they have been driving for 3 yrs or more..is this true? can i dirve a mini or something? taaaaa :)

  1. No, you have to be 17 to hold a provisional license and therefore even be allowed on the road in a car to drive.

    When you have a provisional, you need an accompanying driver who is at least 21 and there is a number of specifications that they must adhere to in order to make sure you're in safe hands.

    You probably wouldn't want to start driving on the roads without professional tuition anyway. They are very dangerous places and you should be taught safe driving techniques from the start (parents and other drivers probably will have bad habits - these can make it more dangerous and increase your chances of failing the test!).

    If you want to learn a moped, however, you can start learning and get a license at the age of 16. Also, if you have a disability according the the DVLA, then you can start learning to drive/driving at the age of 16.
