  1. If you are in California then yes you can.  This is from their website.

    Provisional License

After passing the road test you'll be given a provisional license. If you're younger than 18 years old this requires you to be accompanied by a parent, guardian, licensed driver 25 years old or older, or a licensed, certified driving instructor while:

Driving between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. for the first 12 months or until you turn 18.

Driving with any number of passengers younger than 20 years old, for the first 12 months or until you turn 18.

You may want to look at the handbook to be sure.  There are so many rules and regulations.  Here is the link to the handbook.  http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/dl600.pdf

  2. yes it's ok for that - you can have up to one passenger but you can't be goofing around - they just want to make sure that you don't go joyriding with your friends.

  3. I can see your dilemma - the permit isn't clear about backseat passengers.

The thing to do is make a phone call to the relevant authorities and check.

Personally, I don't think it's a good idea to carry passengers in the backseat for a new driver.

  4. Most states will allow you to carry passengers in the back seat as long as you are properly supervised by an adult in the front seat.

  5. Yes you can as long as your mother has a license for at least 3 years..................................

  6. YES YOU CAN!  Just make sure a licensed driver is in the passenger seat and you will be fine.  Drive careful..................

  7. Where are you from that is says that?

When i got my permit I could drive with anyone as long as they were over 18.

But hey if you get pulled over say you didn't know.

  8. yes

  9. There lies your answer then.

  10. Yes you can have a friend in the back seat. And btw it's a parent or someone over the age of 21 i believe that needs to be in the passenger seat.
