Can i drop a 4l60e from a 99 blazer into a 98 chevy silverado?

The problem is that the blazer is 2wd and the truck is a 4x4. Does that make any difference?

Yes, it makes a difference. The only way it will work is to switch output shafts and tail housings which requires a complete teardown of both transmissions. Pay someone the labor to do that and you might as well have your original one rebuilt.
