Can i dye my hair dark purple without bleach?

my natural hair color is brownish black but i want to dye it dark purple that almost looks black but i dont want it permanent n that does not stain (if possible) i dont want to go to the salon cuz of the cost so maybe like manic panic or something... does it work for non bleached hair?

you can. you can go to walmart or anyplace that sells it. its a dark violet.

i use to use it on my hair when it was dark brown.

it left a nice purple glow, you could mostly notice it in the light

For something like burgundy/dark purple, you shouldn't have to bleach... unless you wanted an unnatural purple, not black with a purplish tint. It sounds like you just want a tint.

I think Feria's Chocolate Cherry does exactly what you want it to do. You will end up with a purplish-reddish tint after that.

If you want it more starkly purple, try Feria Power Reds in Blowout Burgundy.

you need to put at least some bleach streaks in your hair to see the Violet

The darker the colour the less visible it's going to be of course.

If you want to save $$ and use professional stuff I would recommend getting on Ebay and getting some Redken Shades Eq 3v, or even 3rv you will also need some processing solution

A bottle of Processiong Solution will do aprox 33 colours  $10 on Ebay

This will cost you around $50 all up and will give you 5 -10 colours, plus you'll have enough processing solution to last a year!  it's still a h**l of a lot cheaper than going to a salon if you can't afford it!

Alternatively in Ebay Stores you can get 1 bottle of colour for around $8 with your choice of colour and some peole sell 2oz processing solution in little plastic bottles, redken also sell 4oz processing solution but it's scarce as hens teeth!

If you get a strong, dark colored purple hair dye, it will work just fine, even on your dark hair. The ones in the discount stores, such as WalMart, do an okay job, but they are not going to make the purple dark enough to be noticeable. I would highly recommend any of the purple dyes that are semi permanent (last 2-6 weeks).

Yes but it will be very temporary. It will probably only last about 3 days. They do have paste colors. Why don`t you just call around to your local salons before you try it yourself. if you want it Chunky it should`t be that much. Good luck!

If your hair is a light color than no you don't have to bleach it. If its dark than the purple wont really be that noticeable if you don't.

try a dye from hot topic or somewhere, as it will just tint your hair a purple-ish color. to get a bright purple color you would have to bleach it but it sounds like just doing this should be fine. be careful though, there's no guarantee that a dye won't stain.
