Can i dye my hair without bleaching it?

i have really dark brown hair and i want to put noticeable red highlights in it. i've tried just dying it but my hair is far to dark and they don't come out red enough. is there a way to get a more saturated red without bleaching it?

  1. You could get it "lightened" i used to have red tips and i have dark brown hair and i went to the salon and the "lightened" it they didn't tottaly bleach it!  


  2. Yeah since you don't want to damage it by bleaching it you should just go to Sally Beauty Supply or Crazy Extensions (in the mall) and buy some extensions they have real hair extensions in crazy colors like bright red and bright blue and stuff so you can curl them!

    Another idea is I go to middle school and i know a lot of kids who dye their hair with Jello-O! It works great they can get really cool colors and it stays in for quite a while!

  3. You can always bleach the highlights, then re-dye them with your desired dye.

    Make sure you do this at a salon, you don't want to risk getting your hair damaged.

    If you don't bleach it, it'll never show up. I have black hair, and it's difficult to get a light color in my hair.
