You hear that eggs are so bad for you. I'm trying to lose weight and eat healthy. However when i eat cereal or a small muffin in the morning i'm usually starving around 11am and i'll look for anything to eat here in the office and sometimes its bad things, likes cake, donuts etc. This throws my entire day off. Even if i just eat my lunch at the time i'm hungry for dinner 4:30

However when i eat 1 fried egg with 1 slice of cheese. I don't get hungry till lunchtime around 1:00pm. Since 1 egg with 1 piece of cheese is 170 calories and cereal is around the same thing.

Can i eat an egg and slice of cheese everyday?

  1. yeah have an egg but take out the yoke that is the fataning part

  2. Sure, you can eat an egg and cheese everyday.  It is certainly better than cake and donuts.  Add a piece of fruit as a mid-morning snack.

Cholesterol is not 'the boogyman' (my opinion), if you are concerned talk to a nutritionist and/or have your blood checked.  Your body makes cholesterol as well.

  3. Yes an egg per day is good.  Egg is good for you.

However I do not think your breakfast is healthy enough.  If you really want to loose weight you need to have a healthy breakfast consisting of all the food groups.  And your stomach should be satisfied.

How about a bowl of fruits for or with breakfast.

Or steamed veg along with a complex carb and some fruit or vegetable juice.

The following will give you some guideline on what/how to eat.

The most common cause of obesity is poor diet and/or eating habits and a lack of exercise.  Other factors that can lead to obesity include glandular malfunctions, diabetes, hypoglycemia, emotional tension, boredom, and a simple love of food.  Obesity has also been linked to food sensitivities and/or allergies.  Food your body cannot use or that is a poison to your system is stored in the tissues and causes water retention.  Ironically, poor nutrition may be an important factor in obesity.  When there is inadequate intake of certain essential nutrients, fat is not easily or adequately burned and can accumulate in the body.

There is no need to worry about the amount of calories you consume as about eating the proper foods.  Rotate your foods, and be sure to eat a variety of foods.  Eat meals that consist of a balance of proteins, complex carbohydrates, and some fat.  Proteins can increase your metabolic rate by as much as 30%, and help to balance the release of insulin by prompting secretion of the pancreatic hormone glucagons.  Protein-induced glucagons, mobilizes fats from the tissues in which it is stored, thus aiding in weight loss.  By eating balanced meals you get more steady blood sugar levels and the ability to burn stored body fat for long-term weight loss.  Eat mainly plant proteins, such as nut, seeds, and grains.

Eat fresh fruits and an abundance of raw vegetables.  Have one meal each day that consists entirely of vegetables and fruits.  Use more low calorie vegetables such as broccoli, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, celery, cucumbers, green beans, kale, lettuce, onions, radishes, spinach, and turnips.  Eat more of the low calorie, low-carbohydrate fruits including,  apples, cantaloupe, grapefruit, strawberries, and watermelon.

Eat foods raw where possible.  Drink 8 – 10 glasses of water each day.  Also include home made fruit juices and vegetable juices in your diet.  Eat a wide variety of fruits and vegetables - at least all kinds that you can get your hands on.  Just eat more of the low cal., low carb ones.  And do not forget to take exercise.

  4. 1 egg has only 70-75 callories, the most for the breakfast, it's good, even less than enough, for your liver health in a long tme, add excersise, the only damage is on liver... drink a lot of water, and excersise, it not in the mood, just walk around the house for a bout 20 min a day...

  5. Eggs aren't completely bad. Just the yellow yolk is. Super high in cholesterol. If you practice you can separate the egg white from the yolk once you have cracked the egg. Dispose of the yolk and only cook and eat the egg white. The protein in the egg could be what is making your feel full for so long. Here's a great idea. I just make this shake sometimes in the morning instead of eating a big breakfast.

    Things you'll need :

Chocolate flavored Whey Protein Powder - 1 scoop

Silk brand Light Vanilla SoyMilk - 1 cup

Instant Coffee Grounds - 1 teaspoon

Mix them all together and VOILA! A breakfast (or preweightlifting/workout) shake that only has around 200 calories, around 26-30 grams of protein and caffeine to give you an energy boost. Its yummy too. Also, the combination of soy protein and whey protein has been shown to increase metabolism up to 50% for 3-5 hours after consuming the mixture.

You also need to eat more frequently or your stomach will get overstretched when you pig out and your metabolism will go kaput!

Eat 6 meals a day at 200-300 calories each meal. But you really want to not eat the egg yolks because of cholesterol. They sell only egg whites at the grocery store called 'Egg Beaters' but if you can learn to just separate them yourself its much easier and less expensive.

  6. One egg a day is good.  They say it's bad to eat too many eggs a week, usually more than 10.  Also try other ways of cooking the egg, like boiled or poached.

  7. eggs are a great source of protein. eating the protein will help hold you over longer. the reason you get hungry sooner with the cereal or muffin is because it is a carb.

i would eat the egg with cheese. but maybe add some fruit with it. if you are full with it add some fruit in for a snack later in the morning. it is good to get hungry a couple hours later, it means your metabolism is working right.

eggs aren't bad for you, but people worry about cholesterol. if you have issues with your cholesterol you can always buy the cholesterol free eggs. they don't taste bad at all.

  8. My doctor said that eating a egg is really good for you (at least when I was pregnant). He said that the many health benefits of an egg outway the bad,
