Can i email this or do I have to hand it in?

I'm applying for a sales job at AT&T. Can I email this particular store my cover letter and resume, or is it better to go hand it to them. And if it's better to go in, should I ask for the manager? Or just...say I'm handing in a resume for review? Ugh I'm obviously not very experienced in this. I obviously would rather just email it to the store and call it a day. Then I can sit here and continue studying my stupid interview questions lol. But I want to pick the choice that will give me the best chance of getting called for the interview. Ok, I'm done rambling I swear :)

Any advice is soooo appreciated :)

  1. I believe you should go hand it in personally.  Do you want the job?  Go meet the manager.  Emailing it in is like calling to find out if a job is available.  Employers may consider it lazy.  When I managed a book store, if anyone called to find out if I was hiring, no matter how desperate I was for people, I told them "no".  If they want a job badly, why not come in to apply?  If they can not manage that, how am I supposed to know they'll show up on time every day?

It all comes down to how you want your work ethic to come across to your potential employer.  Look at what you said up there.  "I obviously would rather just email it to the store and call it a day. Then I can sit here and continue studying my stupid interview questions lol."  Not a good frame of mind.  It's very negative.  Finding a job is full time work, and part of the reason why is because you should be meeting as many people as you can out there, and SHOWING your desire to work.  If my store had accepted applications via email, I probably would have disregarded them the same way I disregaurded phone calls.  At the very least, they'd be at the bottom of my priority list.

Remember, this is a job in sales.  You have to SELL YOURSELF to the employer.  Besides that, you can't prove you're good with people if you sit at home.  Salesmen NEED to be good with people.  Go show off your skills.
