  1. As Jethro Tull said:

"That's bungle in the jungle" or "Bungelow in the jungelow"

  2. My neighbour's so called extensions are larger than his house . Covers about 75 % of his garden that is being built on. A two storey ed detached building is being erected in his back garden. I believe permitting  this, simply unacceptable . Our thoughts and expectations. ..........".Back-handed Cultures ".

is very much the NORM in west -London..Can anyone understand  why people are not happy ? It really depends where one lives because the Laws differs widely and applied differently to different people.

  3. you've answered your own question.

    now take the appropriate action

  4. If one of them is underground, why are you bothered?

  5. I doubt if the covenent is enforceable by you as you are not the beneficiary of it.

He can build whatever he has planning permission for.

Strictly speaking, a bungalow has not more than one storey above ground.    He can have a secret city below ground and it's still a bungalow.

  6. Most people would probably agree that this is a bungalow given that only 1 storey will show above ground. But then there may be some more technical definition of "bungalow" that involves more than that. You have to assume that the builder is aware of the covenant and has either 1) decided to ignore it and build a bungalow in any case (however many storeys it has) or 2) has designed the building to be outside the legal definition of bungalow and/or the scope of the covenant. Can't help wondering why he's gone to the bother of building one storey underground when a standard 2 storey house would be cheaper and I would have thought more saleable.Sounds like one for your Solicitor.
