Can i feed my 2 week old puppies baby formula?

my dog recently gave birth to 6 maltipoos (mixed maltese and poodle), but she doesn't seem to be producing as much milk as the puppies need. Is it possible to feed the puppies baby formula for now?

This is why people shouldn't be breeding dogs when they don't know what to do. Take the mom and her mutt puppies to the vet. It won't hurt to help her with PUPPY formula that you by at the vets office but they need the mothers milk to help prevent disease. When you go to the vet make an appointment to get your dog spayed and find some good homes for the mutt pups. Rember that mutts should only be adopted out at the cost it took to get thier shots.

No, you cannot use baby formula. The pet stores have milk replacer for puppies and kittens. You can use that.

If you are giving feedings, but Mom is still producing milk, then only give supplemental feedings or Mom will dry up and you'll have to be feeding the wee things every few hours yourself. Also, once she no longer nurses, she's not going to keep cleaning up after the pups so your work goes up amazingly fast. I assume you have a baby scale and are monitoring their weight and that's how you know they aren't growing.  Give a quality puppy formula, (the stuff at Wal-mart is ok for an emergency but I've used it in the past and found that the puppies don't thrive as much on that brand.) Get the powdered stuff and keep it in your refrigerator. The premade stuff is only good for a day after you open it - the powdered stuff can be made a little at a time as needed. They sell puppy bottles, but the last litter that I bottle fed ended up doing a lot better when we got them real baby bottles. They liked the bigger nipples - of course, they were coon hound/lab mixes.

not human baby formula no. go to wal*mart or wherever and buy puppy replacement milk. its cheap and you can buy it already mixed.

No, you need to go to the vet and get puppy formula as well as instructions on how to feed them every 2 hours.  It needs to be done correctly because over or under-feeding puppies is really dangerous.

You shouldn't feed them human baby formula.  It would not be good for them and could make them very sick.  The mom should be getting as much HIGH quality food as she will eat.  That will help produce more milk.  Dog vitamins are good for her too.  She needs to eat and get the best nutrition you can give her.  Royal Canin, Blue Buffalo are a couple of very high quality foods.  If you are giving her very high quality food and she still isn't producing enough then you may have to suppliment the babies.  How do you know she isn't producing enough?  Just curious.
