  1. If your baby is willing to eat more than 3 oz. and seems hungry, feed it.  Babies (unlike older kids) typically eat until they are satisfied, not because they can.

  2. Yes, Emma was eating four ounces when she was born.  Feed him until he quits.

  3. Depending on wt. yes if he is hungry but watch it over wt. babys can become overwt adults

  4. yes your baby will let you know when its hungry or not and if it wants more or not good luck

  5. If you feel your baby wants more then 3 oz, go ahead and try. I would do 1/2-1 oz more and see if they would take it.If not then its ok, you didnt make too much you can just throw out the rest.  At this age they are gonna go through their growth spurt , so its probably time to up it a bit.

    Good Luck

-----I need to make this a lil clear for some ppl.....feeding baby more , will not cause them as adults to be overweight, only adults can make themselves over weight. Babies this young need all the nutrients they can get, and they will let you know when their bellies cannot handle anymore. Just like giving them rice cereal or solids, will not cause obesity later on in life. Letting them eat junk and not watching the intake when they get older will cause it. If you are feeding your baby and there is still food left and they arnt wanting anymore, dont force them. That cause eating dissorders.

So please stop saying that feeding a baby too much will cause them to become overweight adults, again only adults can make themselves overweight.

Sorry, I just thought Id make that clear to some who posted about over feeding.

  6. Yes of course. They key is to make sure the baby is not overfed. One sign of overfeeding is that they tend to throw up.

  7. It's your baby.  Don't trust him /her with any suggestions you might find on Yahoo Answers.  Ask your doctor, relative or close friend.

  8. Call your babies doctor and ask, the doctor knows more about your babies needs from the well baby checkups. My opinion is yes, if the baby wants more. My son used to take 8oz every two hours. Needless to say breastfeeding was out of the question, I would never have gotten a break. And no he is not even close to being obese, he is eight and 50lbs.

  9. If the baby takes more, that is fine.  Just make sure he/she is being burped. After he/she is done feeding, if they spit up A LOT try to cut about a quarter of an oz. the next time they feed.

  10. Sure! As long as he's not spitting it back up. My son is now 2 months but the first couple of weeks he was kinda fussy and now that I look back I realized that if would have just fed him more life would have been happier for both of us but I was worried about overfeeding. I asked my doctor and she said that as long as he's keeping it down and content feed him as much as he wants. I would try giving him 4oz. and see what happens. One thing with my baby was that he didn't want 4 oz. everytime he ate so you kind of have to get the hang of that but eventually you'll get it down pat. Good Luck!

  11. YES IF THEY WILL EAT AND MOT THROW UP. LET THEM EAT NORMALLY THEY WILL STOP WHEN FULL

  12. of course let him eat till he is satisfied. mine was eating five ounces at the time.

  13. hi, I'm from Australia and don't know how much is on an ounce, but at 4 weeks my daughter was drinking 60mls formula every 3 hrs and still going on the breast in between. she was crying because she was hungry, my midwife clinic suggested i put the bottle up to 120 mls and let her drink as much as she needed. she downed it all and was much more settled and slept better. over here our formula is one scoop per 60mls of water, so the midwife suggested that i go up to the next step and see how she went. I'm guessing your formula is the same. but i would definitely be checking with the dr to make sure he/she thinks its ok. you can always ring the hospital where you had bubs, I'm sure they would give you some advice until you can get to the dr's for an appointment
