Question:

Can i feed my goldfish any kind of insects?

like very small crickets, mosquitoes, flies.... i know bloodworms and larvae are best but im just wondering

  1. I wouldn't want to feed mine that, but I guess you can, It also could make your tank really dirty....


  2. yes, My fish live mosquito larvae. and they will eat anything that lands in the water.

    Fish, including goldfish, are excellent opportunistic scavengers.  They will eat anything that happens to land on the surface of the water.  This behavior will extend anything that sinks to the bottom of the tank in the case of goldfish.  As long as they can fit the insect in their mouth they will attempt to eat it.

    Why go through the hassle of trapping mosquitoes and flies or buying small crickets when you can easily obtain bloodworms or shrimp?  Don't be afraid of the fish pellets or flake sized appropriately to your goldfish as well.
