  1. Yes you can. Most people do feed in the cage. If you have a larger snake then I would say hook train it. It's when everytime you want to take the snake out of the cage you go in and touch it with the hook. And if your feeding it dont show them the hook. Then they know when they see the hook it's time to come out, not time to eat.

Some people think that if you feed in the cage then the snake becomes agressive in the cage, but in most cases its not true.

  2. I always feed inside the enclosure as well. Just be sure to wash your hands after you've handled your snakes prey item. Always, always, always do this and your snake will never bite you out of mistaken identity. Also I find that my snake thoroughly enjoys eating in her own home then some smelly old box or whatever enclosure it may be.

  3. You can, although some people like to feed them in a separate enclosure next to their main one. But it is quite a hassle to design a door device that will allow the snake to move to the feeding place. I would recommend you just feed it though, don't play around with them.

  4. Yes you can. I have over 150 snakes and I feed them all in their enclosure and I never get bitten by them mistaking my hand for food. Feeding in a separate enclosure is a beginner practice and I guarantee you no big breeders or biologists move their animals into a separate enclosure for feeding. Usually, if a snake is going to bite you, it's going to do so when you first go to grab it out of its enclosure. This is out of fear and not hunger. The snake is scared and instinct tells it to bite. I pull my snakes out with a snake hook or tap the big ones on the head so they know its not feeding time. My corn snakes and ball pythons are so tame I can reach in to grab them and have never had one bite ever. So yes, you can feed in the cage. With problem feeders, like some ball pythons, pulling them out of their cage where they're comfortable and putting them in an unfamiliar place isn't going to help get them feeding.

  5. I thought you could. Why not, I never heard of having to feed them somewhere else.
