  1. it doesn't matter as long as its not frozen.  Snakes arent picky if a rat is wet or not.  Snakes eat wet rats in the wild all the time.

  2. Being wet causes no problems, in fact, it can aid in swallowing.

  3. You can pat it dry with a paper towel. If it is still a little damp or wet no problem. Just feed it.

  4. after thawing out a frozen rodent a lot of people heat it by putting it in hot water for 5 - 10 minutes...that gets the rodent heated all over instead of just on one side like with a heat lamp.  pat the rat dry if you want too...i don't pat it dry for our green tree python...i figure she gets a little more water that way.  :)

  5. i dont think it matters as long as its not frozen but if you dont want to feed it a wet rat then you can dry it off

  6. You should wash any frozen rodents before feeding anyway to rinse off anything harmful it may have come in contact with -such as mite areosol sprays etc.

I just thaw in warm water and dry as best I can with a paper towel, most snakes won't care eating a wet food item anyway.

  7. that's how i do it.

  8. I do, and they don't mind at all. And the ones that get live rats...go and take a long drink right after swallowing.
