Can i fight tint tickets in NYC?

Question

I got two tint tickets for my rear windows (yes, not the driver and passenger front) by NYC police yesterday. My front windows are clear but I didn't know it's now illegal for the rear window too. and the cop gave me one ticket for each rear side windows. $ 100 each with the surcharge. sounds ridiculous. Can i just remove the film and ask the court to dismiss it or reduce the fine?

I live and been driving in NYC since 1979.  No you cannot just remove the tint and get the ticket dismissed.

But getting 2 tickets is just stupid.  That I would fight.

Just know this:  I've been driving here for a LONG time.  And I've never had my tickets dismissed - even when I was in the right.  So don't expect too much.  This is the BIG and BAD city.

when you get pulled over just tell them that the tint was on the car when you bought it. The cop will most likely give you a warning.

in virginia you can do that, why the h**l did he give 2 tickets?? i think you can take that to court and just p**s the cop off

remove it now i have been cited 3 times in a week for a illegal tint

the third time i was forced to remove it there

but it was illegal i just didn't care

no you cant fight it not nowing the law  is not a excuse
