  1. To Be Honesty Lots People Say You Have To Use Special things But I Just Use Tap Water And My Fish Are Fine>x

  2. First you have to know what if anything your tap water is treated with. If you are on a municipal water system it will have at least chlorine, and possibly ammonia (chloramine). If you have your own well the water should be fine as it is. If your water is treated with chlorine or chloramine, you must treat it to remove those chemicals or the water will be poisonous and it WILL kill your fish.

  3. Yes, you can. If you do not want to use any water conditioner, i suggest letting the water stand for a couple of days to let any chemicals used during water treatment to dissipate

  4. you cannot use tap water because it contains a chemical called Chlorine. It attacks the membranes of the fish and can kill them as well as all the beneficial bacteria within a fish tank.

You need to purchase a chlorine/ammonia neutraliser before putting the fish back in. Always let the tank sit for a couple of hours and float your fish in a bag (like when you got them from the pet store) to acclimatise them to the new tank temperature.

  5. NO NO.  That is a bad mistake.   The only way you can do that is if you add stress zyme or some tap water cleanser that will make it safe for aquarium fish.  Still if you could use reverse osmosis water, that is the best.  Hope this helped.

  6. ye but u gotta add water cleanser to it. you can buy it from just about every pet shop

  7. No. You have to use water conditioner, or let the water sit out for a few days. Because the fish will die from the chlorine in tap water.

  8. You sure can!

    If you want dead fish.

I assume you are on city water. Chlorine will kill a fish in a very short time period.

If you are on well water you can fill your tank without conditioners but that's the only way.

  9. yes

  10. You can fill your fish tank with any liquid you like. Even beer. HOWEVER if you want your fish to live you should use water conditioner etc to prevent the chemicals from killing off your fish.

  11. you only must add to tap water chlorine remover or the fish won't survive

  12. I think so i do it 4 my pond!!

  13. you must put dechlorinator in tap water.

regular tap water will contain chlorine and chloramine (chloramine does not evaporate) and other such chemicals designed to kill off bacteria - this will mean it will kill off any good bacteria within your filter and cause your tank to ammonia spike and spin into a cycle, killing off your tank inhabitants.

  14. You will have to let it get to room temp before putting your fish back in, and always place some of the old water back into it, it has some good things in it that the fish will need. You REALLY should test the ph of the water and put some conditioners in, but if you place some of the old water back in, you should be fine.
