  1. Finding who built a home in the past is not as easy as one thinks. Record keeping and permits and licenses were not very common until recently .You might want to trace the property dead back to see who owned the property at the era it was built , than you might find that a builder had purchsed the lot to build a home etc. also try asking older neighbors if you have them . good luck


  2. If you are in the UK then your Planning Dept may still have a copy of the planning application. This will tell you who owned the plot at the time and who was the applicant (not always the same) and you can start from there.
