  1. Yes you can, but it is debatable if the standard long cartridge will function the action of the semi-auto 10/22, and the short cartridge would DEFINATELY have to be fed & cycled manually, one shot at a time, as the low powered short would NOT cycle the bolt.

  2. Only if you single load them one at a time.  The mini caps, shots and long and smaller than the 10/22's standard clip that is designed for the 22 long rifle cartridge.

DO NOT attempt to load anything but 22 long rifle into a 10/22 magazine.  These smaller rounds will easily fit but the mag will not function, it will jam - and most of these mags are not designed to be serviced.

    Hope this helps

  3. Ruger 10/22 is designed for long rifle only why chance s******g it up yes of coarse you could single feed it but the factory designs guns with the bullet pressures for best use it is always recommended to use the ammo that the gun was designed for.

  4. a 10/22 shoots .22lr

  5. longs are ok, but the shorts won't cycle your action.

  6. No shorts unless you shoot them one at a time.* Longs & Long Rifles you can.*

  7. yes you can.

however, they may not have sufficient power to properly work the bolt, so you may be turning your 10/22 into a single shot gun while using that stuff.

Also, in general, 22 longs and 22 shorts are more expensive than good ole 22 LongRifle

  8. (Q. Can i fire 22 shorts and/or 22 longs out of my 10/22?

    (A. Yes, but you're probably not going to enjoy the process. The 10/22, like most .22LR semi-automatics, is designed to work with the .22LR round, not the .22 short or .22 long. While .22 shorts and .22 longs will chamber and fire in a 10/22 they won't generate enough energy to cycle the rifle. That means you'll have to manually cycle the bolt to extract the fired case and chamber a fresh round for every shot. Additionally the .22 short may cause chamber erosion if you fire lots of them in a gun chambered for .22LR. Another argument against using .22 shorts and longs is that they're going to be more expensive than the .22LR round. Honestly, if you have a semi-automatic .22 rifle, like the 10/22, I can't see why you'd want to bother with the .22 short or .22 long unless you already had the ammunition and that's all you had on hand.

  9. You can shoot them in a 10/22 but they may not have enough power to operate the action properly.  Even so, if you are willing to operate the bolt manually after each shot, you can shoot any .22 rimfire cartridge except a .22 mag.

  10. Yes you can.  That is, your Ruger 10/22 will chamber and shoot .22 Shorts and .22 Longs but most likely it will fail to cycle them.  You can still chamber them manually one at a time and shoot them that way.
