  1. It would be quicker to get the train as there isn't an airport close to Sheffield.

  2. try waggling your thumb on the M1 entrance road... If I see you I'll stop and give you a lift................

  3. Travel from Sheffied to Derby East Midlands airport and go to Stanstead or Luton then train to London

  4. You can fly from London Heathrow to Leeds Bradford airport with BMI.

Robin Hood (Doncaster/Sheffield) airport only flies to Jersey and Belfast in the UK at this time.

  5. Not sure if there is a airport in Sheffield. But you can fly  to Leeds and Bradford airport and get the train fom Leeds to Sheffield takes about 60 mins or less.

  6. It makes absolutely no sense to try to fly from London to Sheffield - even if there was an airport near Sheffield (which there isn't) by the time you got to the airport in London from the city centre, gone through security and check-in and the rest of airline security you would already have arrived in Sheffield if you'd gone by train. On weekdays there is a direct train from London St Pancras to Sheffield at 25 minutes past each hour, which takes 2 hours 21 minutes to get to Sheffield.

First train of the day, if you want to get there really early, is the 0600 from Kings Cross arriving Doncaster at 0751, then the 0759 from Doncaster gets into Sheffield at 0822.

  7. No, Sheffield airport closed down a couple of months ago. Leeds or Robin Hood are the closest.

  8. You can't fly from London to Sheffield. The cheapest and quickest way now is by rail from London St Pancras International. I know this as my Father used to live in that neck of the woods.

  9. the nearest airport is doncaster robin hood (airport code DSA) but no you cant fly there from london, not with out going via amsterdam or somewhere else in europe first. take the train
