Can i forget english?

Ive recently moved to mexico city were im gonna be living by myself for a year and i was wondering since (i am 15 ) will i forget english or will i have a accent? i am bilingual but emglish is my most fluent lenguage .

no! you're already 15 it's not possible that'll forget.

my mom's friend is a filipino who came to the U.S when she was 20 and she says she forgot how to speak our language and it really pisses me off. she's such a social climber and i think it's just ignorance. ughh

No, you will forget English.  You will always be able to communicate in English.

Hi,

It is possible to forget  to a certain extent, but it probably won't be permanent. I was 19 when I spent 6 months in Spain. I spoke Spanish most of the time and eventually started thinking in Spanish. At times I would have to think for a while to come up with the right English word.

About developing an accent, your accent in English won't be affected, but if you are going to an area different from where your parents originated, your Spanish accent will probably change somewhat. Again, this could be temporary.  I developed the accent from Castille, but after I returned back to the USA, I eventually reverted back to speaking more like Latin Americans, even though I can speak with the Castillian accent when I want to.

Go and have fun with it, and don't worry too much.

no you won't forget English and you won't get an accent i was 11 when i left Australia and the only source of english we had those days was tv and really easy english books
