Can i get 2-way internet access while at sea?

Question

My friend and I have been professional poker players for a few years. We decided we should get a mid sized yacht and sail around the world. This would work out great if we could get set up with realtime internet access so we could play poker online. I've looked around a bit but it doesnt seem like this is an option. They have satellites plans that let u do email and send OR recieve data but not really both. I dont need fast internet, just constant realtime 2-way internet!

You can get a Satellite Phone and they have Inet also. But, they not cheap, so, you best be a good Poker Player. ;-)

IF, that not work. You need to do a little research. But, I think you can get a Direct TV like Campers use and it have Inet. But, it depends on the service provider.

I believe that if you try to use a satellite connection while at sea you would have a very difficult time aligning it properly for two communications as it is a very small window for alignment.

I would look into air cards and the availablitiy of connections around the world which could be out of the question I am not sure what provider might have world wide coverage.

This is from my own experience of trying to get a satellite connection at my home and the installation person could not get the correct window for two way connection, he said a receive location could be found but not a transmit which is a smaller window.

I know that text messages are possible but not sure of the Poker connections I would say you will have to do some very deep research to find the correct connection method.
