You can setup a dual boot with XP and Vista but you will only be able to view one OS at a time.

You could run Vista on your computer with Dual monitors and then run XP in Virtual PC or VMWare. You would then move the XP virtual window to the second monitor and be able to use both operating systems. Your computer would be slower than just running one OS but depending on what you're doing and how powerful your system is you might get acceptable results.

You run one pc that has xp installed then run a Virtual Machine that will run vista in a window on your desktop...

We do it all the time at work so we can make changes to an OS and not have to worry about killing a machine..
