  1. Depends how long ago it was and if it was only one offence.   Were you convicted of the charge?  What was the dispositon?  How long ago?  It was only one conviction and it was over 10 years ago then you will be deemed rehabilited automatically and will probably be eligible for a visa.   Get your court records together for proof of dispositon and sentence.  Same if it was dismissed.     If the conviction was less than 10 years ago but more than 5 you can apply for a "waiver" at your nearest Canadian consulate.

  2. Most countries will not extend visas to people with criminal records. You can try, but its doubtful you'll be issued one.

  3. Convicted for a violent crime? No, you cannot obtain a visa.

    Canada doesn't want any more criminals here.
