  1. if you buy it at the apple store you get student discount

  2. Hi Greg,

so you decided to go with the iMac (I answered you previous question). Good choice you won't be disappointed.

As well as the  things the other responder suggested you can call Apple Store directly 0800 048 0408 explain you situation and I guarantee they will make you a good offer. Swat up on the list price first so you know what you should be paying.

  3. Apple's terms and conditions usually require you to be a full time student in, or accepted to, a POST secondary institution.  This may vary with your country, go to your Apple online store, to the Education section, and read the terms and conditions.

Apple does make random audits of their Education customers, so if you purchase with a phony ID number, you have some degree of risk of being asked to pay the difference to the full retail price.

If you don't qualify, don't abuse the system. If you have a friend or relative who qualifies, and is willing to use up their once-yearly entitlement to purchase, there's nothing stopping them from purchasing and then selling it to you.

  4. What is the point of buying an Imac, you wont be able to afford the software it is a ridiculous price

  5. Sure can Greg; go on this link,

    http://store.apple.com/uk-edu

However I'd reccommend going to an Apple shop instead. I did and got a 7% discount off my MacBook instead of the 5%!

Edit (For answer below) The standard discount if 5% and this can apply to any student if you shop at a highstreet Mac shop.
