im also not the greatest math student, and i think math and science go together. I really am interested in molecular gastronomy, and food science and i'd like to switch from catering to a deeper field of food. i cannot afford a bachelors in Food science right noe either, so do i have a chance in this job area? where would i find a job like that in the dallas fort worth area on Texas? thanks very much in advanced.

  1. If you haven't already, check on Craig's List-great resource for a lot of things. Good friend of mine (pastry chef as it happens) applied for job in Hawaii, was hired and three weeks later is there .good luck.

  2. I dont know good question

  3. Okay, this is what you need to do to continue school but work in a field that gets you where you need to go.

Go to night school to finish up ~ I am assuming you go to the Art Institute (I graduated from there in 2005) so you need to ask your counselor what is your best options explaining EXACTLY what you are thinking

    then

    Go to this company

    Viachem

They will hire you to do marketing work at a good salary w/ benefits ~ ask for $32k to $35k, tell them you are going to school and it is located on Tollway and Parker

The industry is distributing in chemicals but it is mainly high intensity sweetener's but the people you will be working w/ to help them sale are all graduates of what you are wanting to do

If you decide to do this then keep in touch w/ me and I will give you the skinny on certain people etc.  You do have to make a lot of phone calls but if you don't mind that then this would be a great stepping stone for you.

    Good Luck
