Can i get a job in mexico with only a mexican passport?

I also have my birth certificate. But i dont have the IFE card. Can i still find a good job in a hotel or restaurant without it.

In cancun more specifically.

I don't think so...That card is the legal I.D. card in Mexico and you need it for everything if you are over 18.  You will have to ask when you get there.  If you need one...no problem, just go to the IFE office and register.  As to a good job in a hotel or restaurant...you know the salaries are very low...even if it is what is considered a "good " job. I think a waiter would be the best job because of the tips.

The IFE card can be issued for free in just 1 month, you already have two of the three documents needed to issue it. The third document needed is a bill for electricity, water or telephone of your current residence. It doesn't have to be in your name as long as the person the bill is issued to comes with you and shows his own documents.

The line to get an IFE card is usually very small when it's non election season so you can get the data done in 1 hour or less if you're lucky. They will give you a paper which you could show to your employer claiming they will grant you the full card very soon. Chances are they will hire you with just that. Just don't expect living like a king in Cancun, renting an apartment there alone chugs most of your salary if you're thinking about working in a hotel without a university degree in tourism.

Your passport and your birth certificate are OK, but they'll ask you for the IFE as well, you can request it as sonn as you arrive to Cancun and they'll give you a paper so you can pick your ID later. You can show it to your "future" boss so they can see you'll have your papers in order and I don't think you'll have a problem.
