Im 18 turning 19 in july I live in Virginia, I've had my learners permit for 3 years and never gotten a ticket. I serve in the military so i need transportation to drill and also it would make my transportation to my regular job alot easier too. Is thier something out there i can get like a special liscense? I dont want to pay for the drivers ed class because its like $500 around here. Please Help Me. Someone told me because of my age and having my learners so long with a great driving record that i might be able to get it now.

  1. You don't "need" Drivers Ed after 18. Your insurance may be higher though. No reason for you to not take your test to get your full license.

  2. If you've had a learner's permit for 3 years, why haven't you taken the test and got your license? I don't know the law in Virginia, but you should find out if a drivers ed class is really required. Knowing the laws of your state is a requirement.
