  1. yes, you can have many phone lines, with each line being from a diffrent carrier...

    for landlines, only one company owns all of the outside wiring, and is responsible for installing and repairing all the outside wiring (verizon, att, qwest, etc depending on where you live)

    most cases it does not make much sense, but if a reseller company is offering you a better package for your main line, and you want a bare bones line that most resellers do not provide as a secondary or fax line then it makes some sense...


  2. If you have high-speed Internet, you will save tons of money by using VoIP as your 2nd phone for your long-distance phone calling...

    But, to specifically answer your question, esrock21 is probably correct...

  3. you can have one landline and make the other a VoIP line!! I don't think that bell would share their d-box with Verizon or visa-verse!

  4. yes you can get a second line from a different phone company. and yes AT&T and Verizon will let a second company use the NID. with having AT&T or Verizon as the main number and the second company there to.
