Can i get a ticket for a crooked front light, but both work fine!?

i got into a wreck, and the only damage was my front right light got hit out of place, but my dad taped it back, but its still evident it got hit , but my lights still work perfectly.. can i get a ticket? my dad says yes and im trying to look it up to prove him wrong or right

  1. Not likely but get it fixed before getting it inspected.


  2. Yes. It may be just a "fix it" ticket but you can be ticketed.

  3. If your headlight is so misaligned that it blinds on coming drivers or it does not illuminate the road a minimum distance ahead of you than you can be cited for improper equipment.

  4. yes you can get a ticket. it is your responsibility to maintain all part of the car. lights are a safety feature and this instance will cause you to fail inspection.

  5. Sorry, your Dad is correct.  Even if the head lamp is working fine, it is not positioned in the proper location.  Your an easy target for the cops to pull over and ticket.

  6. No, as long as it works, unless it is so off kelter that is glares to the side and blinds someone.
