Pursuant to California Vehicle Code section 22356, the only exception to driving over the maximum speed limit is when a speed limit sign of 70 MPH is posted.  Since you say that there was not a speed limit sign posted anywhere, you're obviously in violation of CVC § 22349(a).  I know of no California highway that permits 75 MPH.

  2. You can "fight" the ticket, but you'd better have proof that the speed limit is not posted.

  3. Yes you can be cited for overspeeding. The maximum speed limit on most California highways is 65 mph, 70 mph where posted.
