Can i get adopted? at 13?

hey im 13 years old and i h8 my mom she don;t do nuttin for me when she bring somethign fgood to eat she only give it to my lil sis nd not me nd my big bro that's y i want to get adopted to a new family plzzzz reply i h8 her nd my lil sis plzzzzz i really would do anything

The only way you could get adopted would be if her parental rights were voluntarily surrendered by her or terminated by child welfare.  Unless she's abusing or neglecting you, the state won't step in to terminate rights.  

Now...even if that were the case, there's not a huge number of people willing to adopt a 13 year old.  There are thousands and thousands of children in foster care waiting for an adoptive family.  There are lots of teens in group homes simply because there aren't enough foster families (this is foster families, not adoptive families...there are even fewer adoptive families) willing to take teens into their home.

There's a misconception that teens in foster care are going to be involved in drugs and violent behavior.  We've brought lots of teens into our home through foster care & haven't had a bad experience yet.

So...just plan on living at home for the next five years and make the best of it.  Get the best education you can so that you can make your own way in the world as soon as possible if you still want out at that point.

Feeling like you hate your mom is a normal teen thing.  I remember feeling like I hated my mom...now that I'm an adult I see that she wasn't really as hate-able as I thought back then.

just run away and stay at a friends house she will soon get the idea that your not happy and you two can talk about it  but dont be unsafe at all just go to your friends house

You need to talk to someone in your area that could help. Is there anything like child protective services? Maybe even talk to a cop, they could point you in the right direction. If they feel it is bad enough the will remove you from your home but you will end up in foster care. Most people that want to adopt want a new baby. Consider how you would feel if you had to stay in foster care (which could mean moving from home to home) until you were 18. Is it worth the risk?

Problem here folks..you're giving incorrect advice.. One can ABSOLUTELY be adopted even past the age of 18!!!!!! My 2 boys (past 18) were adopted my their stepdad... Adult adoption is very common!!

You would not be adopted. You'd be fostered, just due to the sheer difficulty of finding parents who want to adopt a fully-formed person. After about 5, your chances of adoption are slim. But fostering is another matter. Different name, almost the same. But remember, you have to talk to some support before you do anything. They'll get you and your mom to go to some counselling and see if that help. But remember there are always options, but you have to tell someone. Start with a teacher or a school guidance counceller. Don't despair! They'll put you onto the right people to help you. It's not the end of the world. And no mater what other horror stories you hear about foster families, keep in mind - they don't foster unless they really want to and care about kids and helping them get back on track. Good Luck!

First of all, learn how to spell, then ask about adoption.

And your little sister needs your mum to give her food , she's little , she cant feed herself.

You and your brother are older, you can feed yourself, you cant expect your mum to look after you until you are 90. Your old enough to do things for yourself, start acting more grown-up.
