  1. State laws will vary on this.

If it's just a toy in your car, and it's not legislated by state law in anyway, you would be good to go. If you live in a blue state where these types of things are regulated, it could be a different story.

As mentioned, if you're mis-using said "toy" that is another story all together. Possession of a toy in and of itself is not a crime, but states can write legislation making, for instance, toy guns without an orange tip illegal. Best bet, check your local and state laws.

Don't be a couch commando, keep the toys at home. Once you mature enough, go through the proper steps in obtaining your concealed carry permit. Nothing worse than a mall ninja on the streets...

  2. For having it in your car, no

For misusing it while in your car , yes

You can be charged as if it were a real gun if you use it as if oit were a real gun

  3. Yes, escpecialy if it doesnt have a orange tip... you can actually get a felony charge if everything goes wrong!  Take it out, tough guy.

  4. It depends. Are you using it to intimidate people (i.e., are you pointing it at them, using it to hold up the local liquor store, or harrass people) If so, yes you can get in lega trouble over it.

  5. In America you have the freedom to be arrested for anything.

    .....Sometimes for nothing at all!!!!

Could a look-alike gun get you arrested?

    Certainly!

Whatever would make you suspect it could not?

  6. Well it should have a orange tip but I always paint mine black for air soft games so its not noticeable but I don't think they can arrest you. Just tell them its a air soft gun if they stop you. They should be able to tell by the barrel size. Just put some orange tape on the front and remove it once your done driving. Or if your getting mugged you can remove the tape and trick the robber.

  7. i seen, one time, on cops where a guy had a toy pistol. the cop said it's not illegal but if he would of seen it before hand it could of ended 'deadly' (and the cop would of had probable cause to shoot him)

    <><

  8. Just transporting it in your vehicle wont get you arrested.

BUT...It may get you killed if you point it at people, or reach for it when pulled over or if you do something stupid like hold up a liquor store with it..

  9. It all depends on your local laws and what you do with the gun.  If you brandish the gun at someone, you are in trouble.

The worst case scenario is you get stopped by a police officer, grab hold of your gun (for whatever dumb reason), and force him to make a decision on whether or not to shoot you.  They do not have the time, in a split second, to determine if a weapon is real or not.  They like to go home to their families like everyone else, so they are not going to take a chance.  They are getting shot more and more these days.  So why risk a situation like that.  It would end up being totally your fault; as it should be.

There is pretty much no reason to have a "fake" gun, that looks real, in your car.

  10. If you are doing something like waving it around or reaching for it when you get pulled over then I'd say that yeah they'd arrest you for it.  Is the gun itself illegal?  No.  It is supposed to have an orange tip on it so people can tell the difference.

If you are carrying it in the car I'd suggest you don't act like you have a real gun.

  11. they will probably just take youto court thinking its a conceiled wepon but but after that they just either let u go or fine you

  12. no, just dont take the orange tip off or be stupid with it, and if you get pulled by a cop tell him that you have it in the vehicle

  13. At least in Texas one can be charged with a firearms violation on any reasonable facsimile of a firearm. So it depends on what you're doing with it.  Driving around town with it in your car in plain view?  Someone could report you and could be get stopped.  The officer could just apprise you of the situation informing you to keep it outta sight or he could call the DA.  If the DA accepts charges you will be arrested.
