Can i get cable in my basement?

Question

i'm really tired of having to go to another room in my house to watch some tv, especially since my room is in my basement. i was told by one of my buddies that i couldn't get cable because of the walls in my basement are concrete and i can't split the signal. even if i did drill holes and run wire and whatnot, i don't think it would look real good with no where to hide it. i have like 5 channels and there only really good for news....

is there a way i can watch my beloved shows in my basement??

If you go through a cable provider you can get it done.  They have splitters and amplifiers to boost signals.  I know several people who have cable in their basement.

The cable companies have connectors to attach your cable to concrete.  They don't make a big mess doing it.

If you are trying to do this without your cable company knowing, it can be done, you will have to buy the parts at a supplier and rely on your own skills ( but it can be done ).  Radio Shack stores carry enough parts to do this.

try asking your cable provider because they used to wire through my attic to my concrete walls try asking them about splitters or if theres a way they can instal a jack in the wall it will be hard but they done alot of stuff here with bright house good luck

Yes you can run cable anywhere.  You can call your local cable provider and they'll send a tech out to do it.  However that will probably cost you $50 to $75.00  When you could just do it yourself.   Go and but a splitter (they sell them at wal-mart and places like that) the easist way to do it and best looking way is to do it i running the cable wire under neath the carpet or a rug.  If you run it along the edge of the baseboard it won't be noticable.

I don't see why you couldn't get cable in the basement.  Just ask your cable company to install it for you, if you can't do it yourself.
