  1. Is easy to discharge in reserve, but if you got pay as sign in bonus, might be a issue; you would had to pay that back. talk to your supervisor and admin first, don't listen to guy said talk directly to commanding officer, that's jumping of chain of command.

  2. Yea, if you got a bonus, your going to have to pay it back if you get discharged early. I knew a guy who was a real **** bag, missed his drill weekends on purpose, and finally popped positive on a drug test. Normally they would have just given him a dishonorable discharge and kicked him out, but because he was given a bonus he was really screwed over. If you can't pay back your bonus immediately, they'll activate you, make you work the crappiest job imaginable while garnishing your pay until you can pay back what you owe them. When he finally pays off his debt, then he'll get a dishonorable discharge and try to find work, which won't be easy to say the least.

If you are pregnant, you can get time off the Reserves. But in the end you'll still have to fulfill the rest of your contract when your return, there's no ways around it that'll end good, doing your time is the best bet.

  3. I don't know if being pregnant is a good enough reason to get you discharged. I knew plenty of women on active duty who wanted to get out but as soon as they had the baby they had to report back to the ship.

You can request to go to the IRR(inactive reserves) but as stated before you may still have to pay back bonuses.

  4. i know if you are active duty you get discharged...not sure about reserves??? i knwo they cant deploy you though...talk with a feloww navy personnel?

  5. I would talk to your commanding officer and explain the situation. My friend was active and got pregnant and was discharged because of going over weight restrictions.
